EliteScholars is an innovative fintech initiative by WeMakeScholars- an organisation funded and supported by the IT Ministry, Government of India under the Digital India Campaign. It was inaugurated by Dr. Shashi Tharoor, Ex- Under Secretary General of United Nations in New Delhi.
We fund Indian students going to the top US universities to pursue STEM/ MBA programs. The motive of EliteScholars is to offer instant non collateral education loans of upto 75 lacs to these students. We use AI/ ML to analyse the student’s profile, future income potential, various other student parameters. Hence, the mandatory requirement for a financial co-applicant is also eliminated. Once you apply, you get an instant on-screen pre-sanction of your loan.
WeMakeScholars (WMS) is an organisation funded and supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), an executive agency of the Union Government of the Republic of India. Initially WMS was set up to offer International scholarships to Indian students who are aspiring to study abroad. With listings over 26,000 plus scholarships, it is the largest repository of International scholarships on the web, till date. As only 2-5% students are capable of winning fully funded scholarships, the education loan processing department was set up under WeMakeScholars in 2017.
During these years, WeMakeScholars has developed solutions and processes to deliver state of the art fintech solutions which has aided various education loan lenders in India to promote transparency, identify and resolve bottlenecks, increase efficiency in the loan processing timeline.
Today, WeMakeScholars is the official national digital processing partner for 10+ public/ private banks and NBFCs in India. It includes India’s largest lender, State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, ICICI bank, Axis bank and so on. More than 10,000 abroad education loans worth over INR 5000 Crores have been successfully sanctioned within a short span of past 3 years. All the services offered by WeMakeScholars are free of cost for students.
